IRL Participation Waiver

The Table honours those who walk in the world. But the world is a place of stone, traffic, weather, and chance. The Table walks beside you; it cannot always catch you.

Last updated: April 2026 · Version 1.0

1. Scope

This Waiver governs your participation in any mission marked "Hybrid" or "IRL" within The High Table — that is, any mission that requires your physical presence at a specified location, attendance at a Chapter event, or performance of a real-world action.

2. Voluntary participation

3. Assumption of risk

Real-world activity carries real-world risk. By accepting an IRL or Hybrid contract, you acknowledge and assume responsibility for the ordinary hazards of being in public and private spaces, including without limitation: traffic and transport accidents, slips, trips and falls, weather conditions, the acts of third parties, theft, getting lost, and altercations at Chapter events.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Limitations of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Estonian and EU law, the Operator (Samarkand Industries OÜ), its officers, employees, contractors, and Chapter operators are not liable for any injury, loss, theft, damage, inconvenience, or expense you may suffer during or in connection with IRL participation, except where such loss is caused directly by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Nothing in this Waiver excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any matter which it would be unlawful to exclude under mandatory consumer protection law. This Waiver does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

6. Third parties and venues

Some missions reference third-party venues or public events. Those third parties are not affiliated with the Operator unless expressly stated. You enter such venues as their customer or guest and under their rules; the Operator has no control over conditions there.

7. Emergencies

In any emergency, your first priority is to contact the relevant emergency services (in the EU: 112). The Service is entertainment. It is not an emergency response system.

8. Insurance

The Operator does not provide accident, health, or travel insurance cover in relation to IRL participation. You are responsible for any insurance you consider appropriate.

9. Reporting incidents

If you witness or are involved in a safety incident, please report it as soon as reasonably practicable to safety@thehightable.international. Reports help us improve mission design and, where appropriate, remove unsafe contracts.

If you ever feel unsafe: leave. End the mission. Message an Adjudicator. No reward, no reputation, no contract is worth your body.
