Terms of Use

The Table is not a service. It is a society. What follows is the agreement between you and the Table — not the terms of a transaction, but the conditions of entry.

Last updated: April 2026 · Version 1.0 · Governing law: Republic of Estonia

1. Introduction

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The High Table (the "Service"), operated by Samarkand Industries OÜ, a private limited company (osaühing) registered in Estonia under registry code 17492007, with registered address at Narva mnt 5, 10117 Tallinn, Estonia ("Samarkand", "we", "us").

By accessing thehightable.international or the associated mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. Where a separate Chapter operator agreement applies, it takes precedence over these Terms to the extent of any conflict.

2. Eligibility (18+)

3. Accounts & codename

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

See the Code of Conduct for the full behavioural rules.

5. The in-game economy (Quivers)

The Service contains a closed-loop entertainment economy denominated in Quivers (QVS), Silver Florins (SFL) and Gold Florins (GFL). These units are not legal tender, not e-money, not cryptocurrency, not securities, and not investment instruments under EU law. They have no cash value outside the Service and cannot be redeemed for currency. Full terms are set out in the Quiver Purchase Terms.

6. IRL missions and real-world activity

Certain missions involve physical presence in public or private spaces ("IRL" and "Hybrid" contracts). Participation is voluntary and governed by the IRL Participation Waiver. You are solely responsible for your own safety, compliance with local law, and assessment of environmental conditions before undertaking any physical activity.

7. Chapters, Circles and collateral effects

Each city operates as a "Chapter" under licence from the Operator. Inside a Chapter you may belong to a "Circle" — a small group of Members linked by recruitment. Sanctions against a Member may in narrowly defined circumstances affect the Member's Circle (for example, temporary visibility loss or collective cooldowns on shared contracts). These consequences are disclosed at sign-up and form part of these Terms.

8. Account burning (deletion)

You may "burn your identity" at any time from the Dossier screen. A 7-day grace period applies; within that window you may cancel the burn. After the grace period your account is soft-deleted: your codename is released, your Dossier data is removed, and balance history is anonymised. Legal acceptance logs and records we are required to keep are retained per the Retention policy.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or expel ("burn") any account that materially breaches these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or applicable law. Where possible we will give notice and allow you to export your data before action is taken. Severe breaches (doxxing, child sexual content, credible threats, coordinated economic manipulation) may result in immediate expulsion and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

10. Intellectual property

All content, software, design, data, and trademarks on thehightable.international are owned by Samarkand Industries OÜ or its licensors. The High Table is a trademark of Samarkand Industries OÜ. All rights reserved.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. This does not include copying, reproducing, reverse engineering, or creating derivative works.

Your codename, Dossier Portrait, Entry Statement, forum posts and Comms messages remain yours; you grant Samarkand a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and process them for the sole purpose of operating the Service.

11. Availability

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We reserve the right to perform maintenance, modify features with reasonable notice, and suspend access in security incidents.

12. Third-party links and processors

The Service relies on third-party sub-processors (see the Privacy Policy). Links to third-party sites do not constitute endorsement and we accept no responsibility for third-party content or availability.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Samarkand Industries OÜ shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, or data.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Samarkand in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €500, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any matter which cannot be excluded by law.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Information provided through the Service (including narrative lore, mission descriptions and Council outputs) is for entertainment purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial or investment advice.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus), Tallinn, Estonia. If you are a consumer in another EU member state, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence may also apply.

For online consumer disputes you may use the European Commission's ODR platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Samarkand Industries OÜ is not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings and does not currently do so voluntarily.

16. Changes

We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes. Where a revision materially affects your rights, we will present the new version at your next sign-in and require re-acceptance. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
