The Florin is not money. It is a measure of what you have done and what you are owed. It flows; it does not accrue interest; it cannot be withdrawn into the world outside.
The High Table uses a closed-loop entertainment economy denominated in three units:
Quivers are an in-Service game mechanic. They unlock narrative content, cover game actions (mission hints, lore unlocks, call time, bounty placement), and power the narrative economy. They cannot be withdrawn, cashed out, or transferred outside the Service.
The nominal base price is €0.10 per Quiver. The actual spot price floats within a narrow band (€0.08 — €0.125) based on in-game market forces described in the Economy documentation. The price shown in the Vault at the moment of purchase is the price you pay (within the 2% tolerance used to protect against mid-flight oracle moves).
Under Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the right of withdrawal for digital content supplied immediately does not apply once performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent.
By completing a Quiver purchase you expressly request immediate performance (instant credit of Quivers to your balance) and expressly acknowledge that you thereby lose the 14-day right of withdrawal. Once Quivers are credited to your balance, purchases are final and non-refundable, except where otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection law or where we grant a goodwill refund at our sole discretion (for example, duplicate charges, technical failure, or suspected fraud).
In-Service exchange between QVS, SFL and GFL is governed by fixed charter rates:
All exchanges are atomic server-side transactions. Reverse exchanges apply the same fixed rates. The charter rates may change only by publication of a revised version of these Terms.
At first purchase the Service requires you to declare:
This declaration is logged together with the purchase record. A false declaration is a material breach of these Terms and of the Terms of Use and may result in account burn and balance forfeiture.
Quivers and Florins are deliberately designed to fall outside the scope of EU financial-services regulation:
If future regulatory guidance requires reclassification, we will update these Terms and, where necessary, the mechanics of the in-Service economy. In no case will a reclassification create a cash redemption right retroactively.
Purchases are offered at prices inclusive of applicable VAT. Tax invoices are issued by our payment processor on our behalf and are available in your Vault history. Where you purchase in a jurisdiction in which Samarkand is not VAT-registered, the supply is made under the applicable EU OSS/IOSS arrangements.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Their terms and privacy policy apply to the processing of your payment data. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe tokenises card details server-side.
We may update these Terms with at least 30 days' notice. Changes apply to purchases made after the effective date. Prior purchases remain governed by the version in force at the time of the transaction.
